Abstract:

Six picture postcards with scenes from the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake and Fire all addressed to a young woman, Elsie A. Chapman, living at 1315 8th Street in Eureka, California. Five of the six depict scenes from the city and 1 depicts two young Chinese girls in traditional clothing. The earliest one is dated June 21,1906 from San Francisco. One is postmarked from Los Angeles. The various correspondents all appear to be relatives of Elsie A. Chapman.
